What will you do as an Infrastructure Technician at our IES Communications' Birmingham Branch?

In our Birmingham branch, our dedicated Infrastructure Technicians and Lead Infrastructure Technician play pivotal roles in ensuring the seamless execution of projects. Our technicians are experts at measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling, and installing electrical conduit using a variety of tools, including rules, conduit benders, Chicago Benders, and dual trigger bandsaws. They take pride in building closets, mounting and installing backboards, and installing grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required. With a keen eye for detail, they observe the functioning of installed systems to identify any hazards or adjustments needed. Their skills extend to fabricating and installing rigid & aluminum, E.M.T., plasti-bond, and P.V.C. conduit, utilizing mechanical and hydraulic benders to ensure precision. They also install various types of raceway and cable tray systems. Taking on leadership roles, they assume responsibility for the effective performance of their crew, providing necessary training and coordinating personnel to meet project timelines. Adherence to and participation in all company, customer, and industry quality and safety standards is a cornerstone of their work ethic. The Lead Infrastructure Technician elevates these responsibilities by consistently running major project crews, holding weekly safety meetings, initiating performance-related communications, and ensuring compliance with project budgets. They serve as the main on-site contact for customers, attend facility and construction meetings, perform quality checks, prepare red-lined as-built drawings, and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise, embodying our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction in Birmingham.
