What duties do our Pre-Construction employees do at our IES Communications' Birmingham Branch?
As employees of our branch in Birmingham, the Pre-Construction Compliance Specialist is responsible for developing a program to continuously improve and track fade/gain in projects. They conduct research on estimates and projects with business case concerns, interviewing various personnel to create a root cause analysis and recommend corrective solutions. They also provide project management on special projects that impact Pre-Construction processes and systems, and develop reporting metrics using custom-built tracking systems. Additionally, they conduct training needs assessments, deliver training classes, and evaluate the effectiveness of training. The Pre-Construction Manager, on the other hand, manages workflow within the estimating department, mentors and provides direction to estimators and designers, and works with the VP of Engineering to develop process improvements. They supervise quality and efficiency within the department, recruit and manage estimating staff, and participate in management meetings. They also assist the sales department, track site visits, and ensure the sales price aligns with installation costs. Lastly, the Lead Designer manages workflow within their design and estimating team, mentors and provides direction to team members, and collaborates with the VP of Pre-Construction to improve processes. They manage designers and estimators, lead design projects, and coordinate system scope with clients. They also provide technical support, maintain relationships with team members, and conduct performance reviews.
