What will you do as a Project Cost Analyst at our IES Communications' Chandler Branch?
At our branch in Chandler, the Project Cost Analyst (PCA) is responsible for planning, managing, monitoring, and maintaining project profitability to achieve Company goals. The PCA works closely with project accounting to ensure accurate cost posting to the ledger and manages all project cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition. They actively participate in cost review meetings with the project team, coordinate and prepare budget and financial forecasts, and report variances. The PCA also conducts research on technical accounting issues for compliance, supports month-end and year-end close processes, ensures quality control over financial transactions and reporting, and collaborates with project personnel to prepare all required project reporting. Additionally, the PCA creates and implements account process improvements and handles other assigned responsibilities. The Project Cost Analyst Manager oversees the PCA role and is responsible for recruiting, training, managing, and supervising staff, as well as handling human resource issues. They also play a key role in project profitability management, budgeting, and financial forecasting. The Project Cost Supervisor (PCS) supervises 1-2 PCAs and assists in creating and revising a standard Job Audit review process. They attend and lead Holland review meetings, assist with training new PCAs, and implement strategies to reduce underbilling. The PCS works closely with project accounting, manages project cost accounting and inventory accounting, and ensures accurate job audits and notes. They also collaborate with the team on month-end closing, research technical accounting issues, and ensure compliance with job cost, billing, and change orders. The PCS focuses on quality control over financial transactions and reporting, collaborates with project personnel for required reporting, implements account process improvements, and handles other assigned responsibilities.
