What will you do as a Data Center Technician at our IES Communications' Los Angeles Branch?
In our Los Angeles branch, the roles of Data Center Technicians at Levels I, II, and III, along with the Lead Data Center Technician, are crucial for maintaining the seamless operation and security of data centers. These positions involve a variety of responsibilities including executing scheduled moves/adds/changes (MACs), hardware installation and support, asset management, ensuring compliance with security protocols, providing smart-hands assistance, and maintaining detailed documentation to support the integrity and efficiency of data center operations.
Each level builds on the complexity and responsibility from handling basic MAC tasks, troubleshooting, and break-fix scenarios at Level I, to coordinating equipment installations, vendor relations, and potentially serving as an interim Team Lead at higher levels. The Lead Data Center Technician further elevates these duties by overseeing all scheduled activities, implementing best practices for operational compliance, and contributing to data center expansion or migration plans, ensuring that our facilities not only meet but exceed industry standards for performance and security.
