What will you do as a Fiber Optic Technician at our IES Communications' Washington Branch?

At our Washington branch, the roles of Fiber Optic Technician and Lead Fiber Optic Technician are pivotal in maintaining the high standards we set for cabling and termination services. Our technicians possess a robust skill set that includes basic copper termination skills, installation of work area outlets, and the ability to correctly mount faceplates and surface mount boxes while adhering to IES COMMUNICATIONS labeling standards. They excel in building closets, installing grounding for racks and equipment, completing all IDC connections, and performing comprehensive testing and troubleshooting using tools like OTDR and Fluke DTX 180. The Lead Fiber Optic Technicians, in addition to these tasks, take on leadership roles by running major project crews, ensuring adherence to safety and quality guidelines, coordinating with Project Managers for productivity and job completion, and providing necessary training to their teams. Together, they embody our commitment to excellence and technical proficiency in serving the Washington area's fiber optic needs.
