What will you do as a Purchasing Specialist at our IES Communications' Washington Branch?
The Purchasing Specialist in our Washington branch is responsible for entering purchasing information into the accounting system, ensuring accurate GL codes and project numbers are assigned. They are also in charge of ordering and accounting for materials used on job sites. This role involves researching and resolving Invoice/PO discrepancies, coordinating returns and credit memos, and assisting with processing vendor returns by adjusting purchase orders as required. Additionally, the Purchasing Specialist prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price, obtains recommendations from suppliers for substitute items, and obtains approval from the appropriate manager when necessary. They also enter inventory, material, and labor transfers into the accounting system, self-manage their assigned workload distribution, create and implement project process improvements, and serve as a backup for the front desk. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
