The Sales Tax Compliance Specialist job in Washington involves providing support to internal customers on tax-related issues. This includes reviewing tax certificates and packages for accuracy, conducting tax research, and interpreting tax rules. The specialist also acts as a liaison between the tax department and external vendors, and stays up-to-date on changes in tax legislation. They are responsible for conducting audits and refunds to recover sales/use tax exposure amounts, and providing guidance to Operations and Sales on specific tax questions. The job requires leadership skills, comprehensive knowledge of sales and use taxes, and the ability to recommend and drive compliance process improvements. The specialist also participates in sales and business licenses tax compliance segment of migrations for new systems.
