The Director of Virtual Design and Construction in Washington is responsible for developing processes, infrastructure, and teams for managing the use of Virtual Design & Construction models in construction projects. They oversee the preparation of models for use in quantity takeoffs, coordinate BIM instructions, facilitate BIM coordination, and manage the preparation of coordination drawings. They also support the procurement of future projects, provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, and train staff on modeling software. The Virtual Design and Construction Field Detailer interfaces with field construction personnel to coordinate installation with VDC, communicates progress to the VDC department, and audits installation accuracy. The Virtual Design and Construction Manager recruits, trains, and manages direct reports, develops VDC standards and best practices, and manages VDC projects. The Virtual Design and Construction Project Coordinator cooperates with management and team members, schedules and monitors updates, manages workload distribution, and tracks program-level metrics. They also oversee drawing and close-out progress, review CAD files for quality control, and produce CAD drawings.
