What will you do as a Fiber Optic Technician at our IES Communications' Atlanta Branch?
In our Atlanta branch, we take pride in the expertise and dedication of our Fiber Optic Technicians and Lead Fiber Optic Technicians. Our technicians are skilled in a wide range of tasks including cabling, termination, testing, and splicing for both fiber optic and copper networks. They ensure that work area outlets for floors, modular furniture, and walls are installed correctly, adhering to IES COMMUNICATIONS' high standards for labeling and installation. This includes mounting faceplates, surface mount boxes, building closets, and installing grounding for racks, equipment, and cables as required. Our team is proficient in using tools like OTDRs and Fluke DTX 180 for testing, troubleshooting, and ensuring network integrity end-to-end. They're also adept at mechanical and fusion splicing across various types of fiber cable. The Lead Fiber Technician, in addition to performing these duties, takes on a supervisory role, running major project crews, ensuring adherence to safety and quality guidelines, and coordinating with Project Managers to meet project budgets and timelines.
