What will you do as a Project Cost Analyst at our IES Communications' Augusta Branch?
As employees of our branch in Augusta, the Project Cost Analyst (PCA) is responsible for planning, managing, monitoring, and maintaining project profitability to achieve Company goals. They work closely with project accounting to ensure costs are accurately posted to the ledger and manage all project cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition. The PCA actively participates in cost review meetings with the project team, coordinates the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and reports any variances. They also conduct research on technical accounting issues for compliance, support month-end and year-end close processes, and collaborate with project personnel to prepare all required project reporting. Additionally, the PCA creates and implements account process improvements and handles any other assigned responsibilities. The Project Cost Analyst Manager, on the other hand, is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, managing, supervising, promoting, disciplining, and discharging staff as necessary. They effectively manage all human resource issues, complete recommendations for employee performance ratings and promotions, and provide guidance and mentoring to meet customer and Company goals. The Project Cost Analyst Manager also performs the same duties as the PCA, including planning, managing, and monitoring project profitability, coordinating budget and financial forecasts, and ensuring compliance with financial transactions and reporting. They collaborate with project personnel, implement account process improvements, and handle any other assigned responsibilities. Lastly, the Project Cost Supervisor (PCS) plans, manages, and monitors project profitability to achieve Company goals. They supervise 1-2 Project Cost Analysts, assist in creating and revising a standard Job Audit review process, and lead Holland review meetings. The PCS also assists in training the new PCA position, implements strategies to reduce underbilling, and ensures accurate notes are updated during job audits. They work with the team on month-end closing, coordinate the preparation of budget and financial forecasts, and research technical accounting issues for compliance. The PCS also ensures compliance with job cost, billing, and change orders, maintains quality control over financial transactions and reporting, collaborates with project personnel for required reporting, implements account process improvements, and handles other assigned responsibilities.
