As employees of our branch in Raleigh, the Director of System Development plays a crucial role in overseeing all technology operations and evaluating them according to established goals. They devise and establish policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management, while also analyzing the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs. They provide maintenance and support for existing systems, identify the need for upgrades or new systems, and report to upper management accordingly. Building a network of peers with knowledge of our ERP solution and maintaining strong relationships with key leaders across the organization are also important aspects of their role. Additionally, they communicate with and influence internal and external stakeholders regarding key project objectives, align technology solutions with business strategies, and represent the development vision to the business. They analyze performance results, observe and document existing business processes, provide support to users, and assist with troubleshooting application and business process issues. Development activities, project governance, and continuous improvement monitoring are also part of their responsibilities. They lead project teams, drive accountability, and ensure project success by setting objectives, defining requirements, and scheduling deliverables and milestones. They anticipate the direction of the business area, make recommendations to support its desired future state, and contribute to policy recommendations and plans aligned with the Strategic IT plan and business requirements. Identifying and mitigating potential problems and conflicts with development delivery, seeking opportunities to enhance and streamline processes, and performing other assigned responsibilities complete their role.
