What duties do our System Development employees do at our IES Communications' Columbus Branch?
The Director of System Development in our Columbus branch is responsible for overseeing all technology operations and evaluating them according to established goals, devising and establishing policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management, analyzing the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs, providing support for the existing systems as needed, identifying the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and reporting to upper management, building a network of peers with knowledge of our ERP solution, developing and maintaining strong relationships with key leaders across the organization, communicating with and influencing internal and external stakeholders regarding key project objectives to ensure buy-in, working with stakeholders and technical resources to align technology solutions with business strategies, establishing and maintaining a strategic relationship with appropriate level key business and IT stakeholders, representing the development vision to the business, analyzing performance results to identify bottlenecks and suggest optimizations, having an end-to-end understanding of the business, observing, evaluating and documenting existing business processes and requirements, providing support to users and assisting with troubleshooting application and business process issues and providing training, conducting development activities including analysis, design, coding, data migration, and testing for production and development environments, developing and managing project governance including steering committee meetings, sponsor meetings, project team meetings, status reports, etc., monitoring projects from initiation through delivery and monitoring for continuous improvement, leading project teams, driving accountability, and delivering project success, setting project objectives, driving the requirements and project definition process, scheduling project deliverables and milestones, understanding and anticipating the direction of the business area, identifying opportunities and making recommendations to support the assigned business area's desired future state, making policy recommendations and plans in line with the Strategic IT plan and business requirements, identifying and mitigating potential problems and conflicts with development delivery, seeking opportunities to enhance and streamline processes, and performing other responsibilities as assigned.
