In Portland, our branch offers the position of Purchasing Specialist. This role involves entering purchasing information into the accounting system, ensuring accurate GL codes and project numbers are assigned. The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for ordering and accounting for materials used on job sites, as well as researching and resolving Invoice/PO discrepancies and coordinating returns. They also assist with processing vendor returns by adjusting purchase orders as required. Additionally, the Purchasing Specialist prepares purchase orders, enters inventory and material transfers into the accounting system, and self-manages their assigned workload distribution. They also contribute to project process improvements and serve as a backup for the front desk, among other assigned responsibilities.
