What will you do as an Infrastructure Technician at our IES Communications' Houston Branch?

At our Houston branch, our Infrastructure Technicians and Lead Infrastructure Technician play crucial roles in ensuring the seamless execution of projects. Our team members are adept at measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling, and installing electrical conduit using a variety of tools including rules, conduit benders, Chicago Benders, and Dual trigger bandsaws. They take pride in building closets, mounting and installing backboards, and installing grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required. Observing the functioning of installed equipment to identify any hazards or needs for adjustments is part of their expertise. They have the ability to fabricate and install various types of conduits and raceway systems, demonstrating proficiency with mechanical and hydraulic benders. Our technicians are responsible for leading crews effectively, providing necessary training, coordinating personnel, and ensuring projects are completed within timelines. Adherence to all company, customer, and industry quality and safety standards is paramount. Completing IES paperwork accurately and on time, including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, and tool transfers, is a critical aspect of their duties. The Lead Infrastructure Technician, in particular, takes on additional responsibilities such as running major project crews, initiating performance-related communications, and serving as the main on-site contact for customers. Ensuring productivity, job completion, and compliance with project budgets while performing quality checks and preparing red-lined as-built drawings are key aspects of their role.
