What duties do our Virtual Design and Construction employees do at our IES Communications' Provo Branch?
As employees of our Provo branch, the Director of Virtual Design and Construction, Virtual Design and Construction Field Detailer, Virtual Design and Construction Manager, and Virtual Design and Construction Project Coordinator are responsible for managing the use of Virtual Design & Construction models for all construction projects. They oversee the organization and preparation of models for use in quantity takeoffs, coordinate Building Information Modeling (BIM) instructions, and ensure the accuracy of field conditions according to the approved design, shop drawings, and/or model. They also recruit, hire, train, manage, supervise, promote, discipline and discharge, if necessary, all direct reports, and provide guidance and mentoring to meet all customer and Company goals and objectives. Additionally, they cooperate and communicate effectively with management and other team members, prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor weekly updates, and oversee and track drawing and close-out progress for multiple projects. They also provide internal trainings on VDC and related programs and assist Sales and Preconstruction as required to demonstrate our VDC capabilities in presentations and interviews.
