What will you do as a Project Cost Analyst at our IES Communications' Aldie Branch?
At our branch in Aldie, we have a team of Project Cost Analysts (PCAs) who play a crucial role in planning, managing, monitoring, and maintaining project profitability to achieve our company goals. They work closely with project accounting to ensure that costs are accurately recorded in the ledger and manage all project cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition. PCAs participate in cost review meetings with the project team and coordinate the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, reporting any variances. They also research technical accounting issues for compliance, support the month-end and year-end close process, and collaborate with project personnel to prepare all necessary project reports. Additionally, they identify and implement process improvements. The Project Cost Analyst Manager oversees the PCAs and is responsible for recruiting, training, managing, and supervising the team. They also handle human resource issues, complete performance evaluations, and provide guidance and mentoring to meet customer and company goals. The Project Cost Supervisor (PCS) supervises 1-2 PCAs and assists in creating and revising a standard Job Audit review process. They attend and lead Holland review meetings, assist in training new PCAs, and implement strategies to reduce underbilling. The PCS works closely with project accounting, reviews job audits, ensures accurate notes are updated, and collaborates with the team on month-end closing. They also research technical accounting issues, ensure compliance with job cost, billing, and change orders, and implement process improvements. The PCS handles other assigned responsibilities as well.
