Adhering to IES COMMUNICATIONS labeling standards is essential. These technicians are tasked with building closets, including mounting and installing backboards, cross-connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic hardware, and ensuring proper grounding for equipment. They perform a wide range of testing and troubleshooting using tools like OTDR and Fluke DTX 180, handle both mechanical and fusion splicing of all types of fiber cable, and are adept at calculating end-to-end loss budgets according to TIA/EIA standards.
