What will you do as a Purchasing Specialist at our IES Communications' Seattle Branch?
As our employees in Seattle, our Purchasing Specialists are responsible for accurately entering purchasing information into our accounting system, ensuring that the correct GL codes and project numbers are assigned. They play a crucial role in ordering and accounting for materials used on job sites, while also researching and resolving any discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders, coordinating returns and credit memos, and assisting with processing vendor returns. Additionally, they prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and price, obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items, and obtaining approval from the appropriate manager when necessary. Our Purchasing Specialists also handle inventory, material, and labor transfers, self-manage their assigned workload distribution, create and implement project process improvements, and serve as backup for the front desk. They are also expected to fulfill any other responsibilities as assigned.
