What duties do our System Development employees do at our IES Communications' Spokane Branch?

The Director of System Development in Spokane is responsible for overseeing all technology operations and evaluating them based on established goals. They devise and establish policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management. Additionally, they analyze the technology needs of all departments by assessing the business requirements. The Director of System Development also provides support for existing systems, identifies the need for upgrades or new systems, and reports to upper management. They build a network of peers with knowledge of the ERP solution and maintain strong relationships with key leaders across the organization. They communicate with and influence internal and external stakeholders regarding key project objectives and ensure buy-in. The Director of System Development works with stakeholders and technical resources to align technology solutions with business strategies. They analyze performance results to identify bottlenecks and suggest optimizations, have an end-to-end understanding of the business, and observe, evaluate, and document existing business processes and requirements. They provide support to users, troubleshoot application and business process issues, and provide training. Development activities, including analysis, design, coding, data migration, and testing, are also part of their responsibilities. They develop and manage project governance, monitor projects from initiation through delivery, and drive accountability for project success. The Director of System Development sets project objectives, drives the requirements and project definition process, and schedules project deliverables and milestones. They understand and anticipate the direction of the business area, identify opportunities, and make recommendations to support the assigned business area's desired future state. They also make policy recommendations and plans in line with the Strategic IT plan and business requirements, identify and mitigate potential problems and conflicts with development delivery, and seek opportunities to enhance and streamline processes.
