In Tacoma, our Building Information Modeling (BIM) team plays a pivotal role in the seamless execution and management of construction projects. The BIM Coordinator is instrumental in taking projects from inception through to completion, ensuring every design model transitions smoothly to coordination models, shop drawings, and finally, as-built documents while maintaining compliance with contracts and fostering client relationships. Meanwhile, the BIM Manager elevates this process by not only performing all duties of a BIM Coordinator and CAD Drafter but also overseeing the department's operations, including staff supervision, performance evaluations, and ensuring quality control across multiple projects. This role serves as a critical technical and design contact point, focusing on continuous improvement and effective communication with clients and project teams. On the frontline, our BIM Operator generates dynamic BIM models, crucial for identifying design clashes and facilitating project coordination. This role actively participates in weekly update meetings, manages adjustments to models per Construction Management directives, and ensures accurate, up-to-date documentation for field construction, playing a key role in material ordering and on-site model updates.
